We know what natural war is and dread and avoid it if possible. But at times it comes to our door! If our country was under attack we could not avoid it; we would have to fight or be conquered. In the same way God’s kingdom is under attack and we cannot avoid the conflict!
"Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." Ephesians 6:11-12
- The Bible tells us that everything is not visible some things are not seen. Satan, Devil, Fallen angels, Demons (Spiritual principalities and powers)
- One quarter of Jesus’ ministry was casting out demons. Jesus sent out 35 teams of two (the 70) instructing them to fan out into the villages of Judea to heal the sick and preach that the Kingdom of God is at hand. When they returned, the common theme from all the teams during their informal debriefing was: "Wow! Even demons submit to us in your name!" Listen to Jesus' response:
The seventy-two returned with joy and said, "Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name." He replied, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven." Luke 10:17-20
- We are still dealing with these forces of darkness, whether we know it or not!
